About Me

Kailey E. Hunt (she/her/hers) is a Breaking News/Public Safety Reporter for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, part of the USA TODAY Network, in South Texas.

She is a Fall 2020 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied International Relations and Global Studies, and Arabic, as well as walked-on to the nationally ranked NCAA Texas Women's Rowing Team.

Kailey began her career in journalism in 2020 as a Politics Intern with KXAN News, the NBC Affiliate in Austin, Texas. 

Since pursuing her passion for journalism, Kailey's reporting has appeared in and been cited by various statewide and national media outlets, including USA TODAY, Rolling Stone, Yahoo News, and Nexstar Media Group. 

Prior to her journalism career, Kailey spent time in public service, interning and working for the Texas State Legislature, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and the U.S. Department of State.

Kailey is eager to continue to develop her reporting abilities across all mediums. She hopes to one day tell stories as a foreign correspondent.
